Winkie pigeon large oval earthenware hand built and hand decorated plate

This magnificent handbuilt and hand decorated earthenware plate depicts Winkie , one of the heroic carrier pigeons of World War 2 and winner of a Dickin medal for animal bravery . It measures 42cm wide ,32cm high, and 2 cm in depth .
Jane uses drape molds to hand build her plates and as a result they may not be completely symmetrical ! Jane creates the decoration by using paper stencils on wet clay . Each piece is fired twice , first to bisque , then secondly when glazed . Each plate has Jane's stamp on the underside and is unique. For decorative use only .
Jane hangs her plates on the wall as wall decor by using a plate hook or adhesive plate pad . Each plate will be securely packaged in a sturdy box and packed with newspaper and some biodegradable bubble wrap and sent using a Royal Mail tracked and signed for service .
